We have for sale a rare late 1800's or early 1900's Walking Terrier Type Dog Automaton made by Roullet et Decamps of Paris, France.  When wound the dog will walk moving all four legs and turning it's head from center to left and back.  He works well and walks approximately five feet with each winding (please view video above).  This little pup still has all four of his original toothed wheels in great condtion on the bottom of his feet.  The winding shaft is on the right side and the start/stop lever is on it's belly just forward of the back legs. This adorable little puppy has a carton body, leather hide, and glass eyes.  The dog measures approximately 13 1/2" long and 12 1/4" tall.  This little canine has some damage to his leather hide, most notably at the top of his right front leg where it is split and on his tail which is split with some stuffing exposed.  There is some staining and wear as is typical of these old automatons.  The winding key is included in the sale. This is a great little walking dog automaton and he will make an excellent addition to any automaton, wind up toy, or dog collection!  PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTOS AND USE THE ZOOM FEATURES AS WELL AS WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE FOR THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF THIS ADORABLE CLOCKWORK FRENCH ANTIQUE TOY.
