We have for sale a rare late 1800's or early 1900's Walking Dachshund Dog Automaton made by Roullet et Decamps of Paris, France.  When wound the dog will walk moving all four legs and turning it's head from center to left and back.  The winding shaft is on the right side and the start/stop lever is on it's belly just forward of the back legs. This little puppy has a carton body, suede leather hide, and glass eyes.  We say puppy because this little dog measures only about 9" nose to tail, the perfect size to fit in any collection!  This little canine has a replaced suede hide but you wouldn't know it if we didn't tell you. The winding key is not original but it fits very well.  The dog works well although he can be a little hesitant to start once in awhile; just give him a good wind and tap his hind quarters and off he'll go. This is a great little walking Dachshund automaton and he will make an excellent addition to any automaton, wind up toy, or dog collection!  PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTOS AND USE THE ZOOM FEATURES FOR THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF THIS ADORABLE CLOCKWORK FRENCH ANTIQUE TOY.
