We offer for sale a Lehmann Futurus #740 made in Germany between 1919 and 1941.  This is a rare Lehmann pull toy with a unique war story to its' origin.  It has been recorded that at the end of the first world war Ernst Paul Lehmann found a large cache of unused shell nose casings in a Brandenburg factory.  Nobody saw the usefulness of these casings except for E. P. Lehmann who used these tools of destruction to create a simple, yet poignant child's toy.  The wheels on this toy are the same as the wheels Lehmann used on the Zig-Zag #640 and the bell is a genuine WWI shell nose.  The Futurus is a red, white, blue, and gold colored bell toy that emits a loud clear ring as you pull it along on the 4 3/4" diameter tin wheels.  It is missing the pull string that attaches to the loop in the top center of the toy, but should be simple to replace with another string if you wish to take the toy for a spin.  This toy is in good condition, retaining the original finish with only some very minimal paint loss and minor scattered corrosion (most to the gold domes on the inner part of the wheels).  The toy is all original and it has not been cleaned or touched-up.  The wheels are
