Wonderful antique 32 1/2" tall wooden artist's mannequin doll.  We believe the doll is French, it appears to have been made sometime in the late 1800's or early 1900's and it is constructed of pine.   At 32 1/2" tall this exceptional wood jointed figure is slightly under 1/2 scale and he was made with excellent physical proportions.   He is very nicely detailed, and not just his facial features but also the rib cage, the extended off-the-head ears, and his gently poised hands as opposed to the stiffened straight finger position often found on these models.  The mannequin is all wood construction and joined by using ball and tenon joints that swivel on wood pegs which hold everything nicely in place, no metal fasteners are used, the wood pegs keep it all together.   He is in very nice condition with a few scattered minor dings and dents and only one noticeable split from shrinkage located on a knot at his left hip area (see photo #12).   There are a few very tiny chips around the edges on a few of the joints.   We could find no repairs or restoration.  The mannequin is very poseable and he will stand with a little effort and proper weight distribution.  PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTOS AND USE THE ENLARGE AND ZOOM FEATURES FOR THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF THIS WONDERFUL ANTIQUE CARVED WOODEN ARTIST'S MANNEQUIN DOLL FROM FRANCE.
