Horse on platform antique pull toy

We are pleased to offer for your consideration a wood and composition dapple horse on wooden platform pull toy.  On the bottom of the platform in very light pencil is written in cursive “Eastman L. Blake / Dec 1902 / Old Santa”.  This information dates the toy very accurately as it was most likely a Christmas gift for young master Eastman Blake.  The horse has an old restoration having had the legs stabilized and the entire horse over glazed preventing paint from flaking off any further.  There is playwear to the toy as you would expect for the age.  The horse’s tail appears to be braided hair and the ears were made of leather.  All of the paint on the horse appears to be original including the paint on the platform.  The wood wheels are wobbly but also appear to be the original. This little horse on platform pull toy that originally belonged to Mr. Eastman L. Blake measures just over 10" tall and the platform is 11" in length.  It's great to have provenance with any old toy and the inscription on the bottom of this horse pull toy provides it in spades. We've seen other horse on platform toys very similar to this one that were made in Germany, although we cannot find any markings on this toy. PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTOS AND USE THE ENLARGE AND ZOOM FEATURES FOR THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF THIS WONDERFUL ANTIQUE TOY.
