A rare antique German tin litho penny toy, Jockey on Rocking Horse with racing design on rockers made by the firm of Johann Meier.   The Gold accents are bright and shiny and the colors are strong, however this toy does have scattered paint loss and a few wrinkles in the tin from flexing.   The dapple pony is signed with a large M for the Meier Toy Co. of Nuremburg, Germany on the lower rear corner of the red saddle blanket.   A penny toy like this one appears on page 147 in "The Book of Penny Toys" by David Pressland.   This rare German tin lithograph toy measures approximately  3 3/4" long by 3 1/2" in height.   This Meier Jockey on Horse will make a  great addition to any tin toy, penny toy, or horse racing collection!
