Stevens bronze casting patterns for bells from the J&E Stevens factory. These patterns were used to make bells for early American cast iron toys. The diameter of each bell is just under 1 7/8" and the height of the bell is approximately 7/16".  If you collect antique cast iron toys, this casting tree containing 8 bronze bell casting patterns would be a great addition to your collection or if you have been searching for this bell size to complete that special toy of yours, you could have one cast from these patterns.  Please be sure to veiw all photos and read below.

In 1959 the J&E Stevens foundry declared bankruptcy and ceased production in Cromwell Connecticut.  At that time three of the factory employees were enlisted to clean everything out of the foundry.  They divided the contents three ways amongst themselves and created a toy collectors treasure trove.  In recent years a few auction houses have been selling off some of the collections of those former employees.  The bronze casting patterns/molds that we are offering in this sale were originally sold from one such collection in 2009.  The bronze patterns would have been used during production for J&E Stevens beginning around 1890.  PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTOS AND USE THE ENLARGE AND ZOOM FEATURES FOR THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF THIS EARLY AMERICAN J&E STEVENS BRONZE CASTING PATTERN.
