George Brown early American Tin toy

We are pleased to offer for your consideration a fabulous late 1800’s George Brown pull toy.  This impressive large antique toy measures over 13” long.  The hand painted tin toy features a man driving a blue gig with a white horse pulling it.  We examined the paint with a loop and it appears there has been some touch up to the harnesses.  There are two old solder repairs; the first is on the left side “shaft” reaching out from the gig to the horse about 1” from the gig, and the other is an old solder repair under the gig re-attaching the right side shaft to the bottom (see last photo for close-up view of both repairs).  Neither of these 2 repairs is obvious when the toy is upright on display.  There is some wear to the paint especially on the sides of the gig right behind the wheels where the wheels have apparently rubbed against it occasionally over time (see close-up photos of gig and look directly above the wheel, mostly the gig's left wheel). This wonderful early American tin toy has tremendous presence measuring over 13” in length!  It stands 6 ¼” tall and is over 3 ½” wide.  It is rare to find an early George Brown tin toy in such a grand scale.  We believe this horse and gig will make for a great addition to any collection of antique American toys!  PLEASE REVIEW ALL 10 PHOTOS AND USE THE ENLARGE AND ZOOM FEATURES FOR THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF THIS WONDERFUL EARLY AMERICAN TIN TOY.
